The company was set up in August 2005 by the "inspired inventor" Jose Castillo and "high-tech entrepreneur" Hugues Bultot to provide the biotech industry with the missing link to the Plastic Factory concept: the single-use disposable bioreactor. Today, Artelis operates in the fields of: · design, development and manufacturing of disposable mixing systems for flexible bags, specifically for use in the biopharmaceutical industry · development of biotechnological processes, based on: + Artelis' proprietary high-cell-density technology in fixed-bed disposable devices + conventional cell culture technologies BUT with the objective of using disposable components Over ¤ 2 million later, the Artelis team now comprises 17 individuals all of whom are highly experienced in cell culture and well aware of biotechnology companies' needs.
