    ACTIP is an informal forum

of European companies with activities in animal cell technology. If you want to know who we are, what we do and what our aims are, then visit the page with information on our Objectives and our Members. In short, we follow cutting-edge developments in research and production related to animal cell technology. We cover both industrial and academic issues.

Our members are European companies with activities in animal cell technology. This technology is applied for the production of biopharmaceuticals, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, gene therapy vectors and for safety testing. The members also follow issues related to Transmissable Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSEs).

Day to day business is taken care of by a Steering Commitee and a Secretariat.

The member page provides links to our member company's own websites and gives information on how to apply for membership. Members are provided with a password giving access to the secure part of this website, which contains European Commission documents and minutes of the ACTIP meetings.

Our members meet twice a year in a plenary meeting, hosted in the home-town of a member company. These meetings feature high-level presentations on selected topics, with invited speakers from academia, our own member companies and small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). SMEs working on one of the topics covered are invited specifically to these meetings, to network with our members and to present their technologies.

In addition to our meetings, we prepare position papers (for example on the research needs of industry), monographs (see our publications page), information on products and a regular newsbulletin.
