ACTIP is an informal forum of European companies with significant activities in animal cell technology. See also ACTIP Information paper 2011. Its objectives include networking and following cutting-edge developments in research and production related to animal cell technology. Topics covered include the production of biopharmaceuticals, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, gene therapy vectors and safety testing. In addition, issues related to Transmissable Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSEs) are followed.

ACTIP’s members meet twice a year in a plenary meeting, hosted in the home-town of a member company. These meetings feature high-level presentations on selected topics, with invited speakers from academia, our own member companies and small and medium-sized companies (SMEs).

In addition to our meetings, we prepare position papers (the most recent one of January 2012 on Research and Innovation needs), monographs (see library page), information on products and a regular newsbulletin.
